Fort Wayne, Ind. – Heeding calls for a “strong conservative” to challenge Rep. Bob Morris in the general election, Fort Wayne attorney Michael Barranda on Tuesday May 1 announced the formation of an exploratory committee to consider an Independent run at the 84th House District seat.

Barranda, a registered Republican and elected Republican precinct official, announced his intention to “engage residents of Indiana’s 84th House District in a discussion about credibility in public service.”

Said Barranda, “Ronald Reagan once called Democracy the most deeply honorable government ever devised by man. Over the past year the honor of Democracy has been challenged in Indiana – if not outright mocked in the 84th House District.” The exploratory committee, “Friends of Barranda,” will provide a platform for effective, transparent and sincere community engagement, while encouraging a healthy dialogue on important issues facing the community [continue reading Journal Gazette story here].
